Arbaaz Khan To Direct Dabangg 2, Thus Marking His Directorial Debut

Bollywood actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, who has been on a high ever since his debut production Dabangg turned out to be a blockbuster, will now take the reigns as the director for the sequel of the masala action movie.

Director Abhinav Kashyap, who helmed Dabangg has decided against directing the sequel, for reasons unknown. So it's not Abhinav Kashyap, but Arbaaz Khan himself who will be directing the much awaited sequel, thus marking his directorial debut!

News has it that, there were some differences between the Khan brothers and Abhinav Kashyap. What happened was that, Arbaaz received a SMS from Abhinav stating that he won't be directing the sequel. Meanwhile, Arbaaz did not deny the 'differences' aspect between Abhinav and him over a couple of weeks. Arbaaz also said that it was strange that Abhinav, rather than coming personally, sent him just a SMS telling him about him not directing the sequel.

Abhinav's exit has now paved an entry to Arbaaz Khan, who will now be donning the director's cap.

Arbaaz has also confirmed this of twitter saying "Hey guys it true, I will be directing the sequel of Dabangg. Abhinav for some personal n professional reasons opted out."

Arbaaz Adds, "Scripting has already started, the filming starts by early january. Start sound, camera , action. Inshallah Dabangg 2 will live up to all the expectations and be a huge blockbuster because of you all. God bless . Allah hafiz. Dabangg ho!"

In her weekly column this morning, Shobhaa De wrote that Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai in Robot outshine Salman Khan and Malaika Arora Khan in Dabangg, respectively.

Neither Shobhaa nor Arbaaz have tweeted ever since.

Salman Khan had arrived in the world of social networking with a bang, or should we say with 'Dabangg'? The movie, produced by Salman's brother Arbaaz, is expected to release on Eid day, September 10 this year. Will it be a blockbuster? We don't know about that, but for now we do think of 'Dabangg' as the movie during which Salman joined Twitter, and immediately became a hit. The star started tweeting yesterday, and he already has over 25,000 followers.

It seems Salman's learning about Twitter from Arbaaz during the 'Dabangg' shoot, and we've got to say he's a good student, even if he does make the odd spelling mistake.

This morning, Salman tweeted, "Waking up n smelling the coffee, n u?" This was followed by, "Shooting fr dagangg , song in the day n scene in the nite." He meant to say 'Dabangg' of course, and soon corrected his mistake. "Dabangg baba dabangg, azbaaz said I wrote dagangg, told u was waking up na, arbaaz is producing it, so touchy. Hehe."

'Dabangg' it is, and this is a picture of what Salman looks like in the movie, posted by Arbaaz. So, do you think the moustache suits Sallu? Or does he look better fuzz-free.

While his Gladiator act in Veer may not have set the cash registers ringing, it certainly hasn't affected Salman Khan. Sallu is busy shooting for his next film Dabangg directed by Abhinav Kashyap and produced by Arbaaz Khan. We came across some on-the-sets stills of the film and were in for a surprise to see Salman sporting a moustache. Yes...you heard it right; Salman who apparently plays a police inspector would be seen sporting a moustache in this film. Even brother Arbaaz who stars in the film will sport a moustache.

The film also marks the debut of Shatrughan Sinha's daughter, Sonakshi Sinha. One will have to wait and watch how Sallu fans react to this new look of his.

Here's a dekho of Salman Khan shooting for Dabanng at United Mills, Parel on Wednesday afternoon. The actor was spotted walking around the sets bare-chested before he slipped into his character -- of a cop.

The film is his brother Arbaaz Khan's production. Shatrughan Sinha's daughter Sonakshi makes her B-Town debut with the project. Sallu even cycled from his home for the shoot.

ACTOR ARBAAZ KHAN SAYS HIS TASTEFULLY DONE-UP, CHIC RESIDENCE, IS A REFLECTION OF HIS PERSONALITY AND HEAVEN ON EARTH FOR HIM


The 1,800 sq ft residence of Arbaaz and Malaika Khan is, according to the couple, an extension of their personality. Complete with a private terrace and other essentials, this house is the perfect haven for the actors.

The couple’s duplex flat, in Vida Apartments, is located in one of the most scenic and tranquil lanes of Bandra. "I bought this place in 1998, after my marriage, when I moved out of my family home at Galaxy Apartments. What attracted me to this area was its old-world charm and this is also one of the quieter lanes of Bandra," explains Arbaaz.

The Khan residence opens into the living room, which is to the left of the entrance. To the right, is the study area. The entire stretch of the living room is done-up tastefully in shades of beige and natural wooden brown. The living room also serves as the lounge area, where the Khans entertain guests and friends.

The living room has the dining area combined with it. At the extreme end of the living room, is a balcony and the kitchen. Moving towards the balcony, Arbaaz recalls how the skyline of Bandra has changed over the years. "Bandra has changed drastically over the last few decades. Over the years, it has become very crowded and polluted," he says.

Prod him about the process of designing his home and his face lights up instantly. "The décor of the residence was done completely as per our inputs. While the design and look were primarily Malaika's, I also gave several inputs during the designing of this house. We also frequently change the decoration at our place," he smiles.

The study area is complete with all the latest gadgets. "I spend the maximum amount of time in my study room as I like the feel of this area the most. I also have sittings for my film script narrations and other meetings over here," he says. The second tier of the Khan residence houses the master bedroom and their son Arhaan's room.

Khan says that his house gives him comfort and peace of mind, essential after a hard day's work. "My home, my space, is heaven for me. The sense of belonging and peace that I feel when I am at home has no parallel. This place has an inspiring and fulfilling aura and a positive energy about it, which keeps me going," he beams.
