Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Cartoons in Toonpur Ka Superhero With Ajay Devgn Upset Saifeena

Actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are said to be angry & upset with actor Ajay Devgn for having portrayed them as buffoonish cartoons in his next film, Toonpur Ka Superhero.

In Toonpur Ka Superhero, there's a scene where Ajay Devgan is shown shooting for his film Omkara - which also starred Saif and Kareena and their characters have been portrayed in a comic manner.

A source from Toonpur Ka Superhero, which releases next week, said, "In the film Ajay plays himself, a big star, who turns into a superhero for his son. There's a scene where he's shown shooting for his film Omkara (which also starred Saif and Kareena). They are part of the scene but their characters have been portrayed in a comic manner. Saif is seen sporting a tattoo of Kareena on his left forearm as he does in real life even though during Omkara, Saif and Kareena were not dating each other and neither did Saif have any tattoo. It was Ajay's idea to incorporate some fun elements into the film and make it topical."

The source said that Saif's tattoo was spoofed in the film Golmaal 3. "In Toonpur too, Ajay's character is seen making fun of Saif, his tattoo and his love for Kareena while Kareena's character is a hot chick who is trying to seduce Ajay.

Saif's character is seen sporting sidelocks and goatee, the look Saif had a few months ago." The source said these cartoons and their portrayal have upset Kareena and Saif.

"The couple were clueless about their caricatures as nobody had informed them about it.

But when someone who saw Toonpur last Wednesday told them about it they were shocked! Kareena and Ajay have worked together in the recently released super hit Golmaal 3 and Kareena had expected Ajay to tell her about it.

Even Saif, who considers Ajay a buddy and has worked with Toonpur producer Kumar Mangat Pathak in Omkara, is hurt that nobody bothered to tell him.

Right now the couple are keeping quiet. They want to watch the film and then react." Producer Kumar Mangat, Saif and Kareena remained unavailable for comment.

Kareena Kapoor With Saif Ali Khan at The Padma Shri Awards Ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan (View Pictures)

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor accompanied Saif Ali Khan despite not keeping too well, according to reports. As soon as Bebo returned from the shooting of her film Ra.1 with SRK in Goa, she joined boyfriend Saif Ali Khan to take a flight to Delhi where she attended the Padma Shri awards last night (7th April 2010). The Saifreena bond is unbreakable and this has been proved by Kareena Kapoor yet again.

Bebo’s special dress for Padma Shri
Kareena Kapoor was so excited on accompanying beau Saif Ali Khan at the award ceremony at the president's house that she ordered a new Manish Malhotra outfit for the occasion.

Designer Manish Malhotra informs, “Since it's a formal occasion, Bebo chose to wear an off-white coloured churidar with dull gold and a touch of red. It's more textured than blingy.”

Family and Staff Now Call Me Shri Saif Says Saif Ali Khan Referring to The Padma Shri He Received

Minutes before he boarded the flight to New Delhi yesterday morning to receive his Padma Shri from President Pratibha Patil, Saif Ali Khan said that his entire family and staff had already started to call him Shri Saif (the way Padma Shri recipients are normally referred to).

“They’re quite tongue-firmly-in-cheek, though, when they address me with this new title,’’ jested Saif. “My family is always teasing me mercilessly. But Kareena is the only one who is actually encouraging me to strut around with my head held high. She feels this is an honour I must cherish and she is especially proud of me.’’

Saif said that travelling to the Rashtrapati Bhavan was something he was looking forward to, but what made his special moment even more special, was the fact that Bebo would be with him. The actor had also finalised the schedule for his next home production, Agent Vinod, which he intends to start on May 20, and said, “My office is a scene of high activity at this point.’’ And he’s pleased with the envious position he now holds of being the Bollywood actor with the maximum endorsement deals, having just signed his 11th one. Said Saif, “I don’t want to count it for fear I’ll jinx it.’’ His sense of humour surfaced the next second as he said, “I guess I’m a bigger hit on the endorsement brigade than I am in films. But even ads are no laughing matter. One bad ad can do you in.’’

Saif felt that Bollywood has had such a disastrous run in the first quarter of 2010 because, “We as film people are busy making projects. What we should ideally do is tell stories. We’re in the business of telling stories and we must do it well.’’ He was, however, not too perturbed by the ups and downs of showbiz because according to him, “Real estate and Bollywood boom can crash intermittently.’’

Said the actor before taking off, “Just when you think films are flourishing you hear that a dozen have failed to take off. We must take the blame for what we do. The audience is exposed to the very best of international entertainment today. If we want our films to succeed and if we want to justify the exorbitant price of the multiplex ticket, we must give our audience something memorable to take back.

Controversial New York-based hotelier Sant Singh Chatwal, theatre personality Zohra Sehgal and Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan were among many on whom Padma awards were conferred on Wednesday at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi.

Chatwal, Padma award to whom was contested by political parties and against which court cases were filed, looked elated when receiving the award from President Pratibha Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Wearing an off-white bandgala and a bright orange turban, Chatwal had reason to smile as the Bombay High Court Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking to set aside the government's decision to award him the nation's third highest civilian honour.

The Delhi High Court had earlier dismissed a similar plea.

The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had criticised the decision to honour Chatwal as he was charge sheeted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a fraud case, while the government had defended its decision saying that there was "nothing adverse on record" against the US-based Indian hotelier.

Doyenne of Indian theatre Sehgal, 97, who was ill and came in a wheel-chair, wearing white-kurta-pyjama, received Padma Vibhushan award, India's second highest civilian honour at the second civil investiture ceremony.

Famous music composer Ilaiyaraaja was awarded Padma Bhushan in the presence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Vice-President Hamid Ansari and other dignitaries at the Ashoka Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

A suave-looking Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, wearing off-white sherwani, was conferred with Padma Shri, as actress and beloved Kareena Kapoor cheered on. Wearing Manish Malotra designed white churidar, Kareena and Saif happily posed for shutterbugs.

The evergreen beauty of Indian cinema Rekha was also awarded the Padma Shri for her contribution to the film industry. In a career spanning over 40 years, she has acted in nearly 200 movies.

Oscar winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty received Padma Shri for his contribution to sound mixing in the film industry and abroad.

Olympian boxer Vijender Singh was also conferred with Padma Shri for his contribution to the field of sports.

Also, India's first Formula One driver Narain Karthikeyan was conferred with Padma Shri.

Padma Shri was also conferred on Indian-origin US-based doctor Sudhir M. Parikh. He is also the recipient of the 2006 Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, bestowed on non-resident Indians (NRIs) by the government.

The president on March 31 had conferred 64 awards to eminent personalities, including Nobel laureate of Indian origin Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, noted theatre personality Ebrahim Alkazi and actor Aamir Khan
