About the last pic: Farah was busy shooting a song sequence for Joker in Chandigarh on the eve of Mahashivratri, when the crew spotted a whole bunch of saadhus passing nearby, as there was a Pooja that was to be conducted on the festival day.

That's when the aptly active brains of Farah and Akshay Kumar (who plays the lead in the film) got an idea of 'casting' the saadhus in their film. The initially reluctant saadhus gave in to the requests of the Joker's crew members and agreed to do a 'cameo' in the film. The director Shirish Kunder loved the shot so much that he decided to retain it in the film.

The Plot of the Film: In the film, Akshay Kumar runs a corner shop in Southall but his desire is to break into cricket. His father (Rishi Kapoor) is a strict traditionalist and his mission is to ensure his family do not lose their Indian culture and identity. Akshay, however wants to play cricket – not for India but for England in the ICC World Twenty20 – and he gets the chance to do this. Also, according to the makers of the film, cricket is just the catalyst, the real matter is father-son drama. The film is also about British Asian identity and the cross-generational conflict between a father and son.

Katrina Kaif sports a toned body for the song. Speaking about the song, its director Farah Khan states, “Sheila Ki Jawani was supposed to be a raunchy item Bhojpuri kind of song as Katrina's a wannabe actress acting in sleazy films but the song shaped out to be classy and a mix between Chicago and Broadway.”

Interestingly, for one of the sequences in the song, Kat was asked to cover herself in a white satin sheet with men dancing along with her. “For the satin bed sheet, we had a 10 feet rotating bed with the men around her,” added Farah about the sweltering song.

Katrina who wanted to lose weight for this raunchy song 'Sheila Ki Jawani' had never been compelled by Farah that she should have well toned abs.

It’s learnt that this ‘Tees Maar Khan’ actress had decided on her own to have a toned body for the song.

Incidentally, this might be the song which can make Katrina jump from her earlier image of Barbie girl to a classic Indian beauty.

The song which infuses a bubbling effervescence does have a vivid contribution to make in the film and Farah is super excited that it has shaped up perfectly well.

Akshay Kumar attended the finals of his Akshay Kumar Karate Invitationals in Mumbai on 31st October 2010 to hand out medals and pose alongside the winners in the respective categories.

“It was because of the love for martial arts, I entered the film industry. It was because of the film industry I could be a part of organising India’s biggest Karate championship here. The students, you can see here, have come from all over India. This year we received around 55,000 applications in comparison to 33,000 last year. We have invited around 4500 students here and have given them a platform to showcase their talent,” said Kumar.

The best five kids of the competition would be sent to Japan to take part in an international tournament. “I would select three to four students and send them to Japan for the international tournament,” said Kumar.

Keeps ’ em happy Twinkle has been observing the one- day fast ever since she married Akshay. The Khiladi — loving husband that he is — also fasts the whole day to keep his wife company. Twinkle said, “ I really don’t believe in religious things but karva chauth is a sweet ritual and I follow it because it makes my family happy.” This time however, the star wife might not be able to abstain from food and water all day as she is suffering from an allergy attack and has been advised to take medication and rest.

There are mehndi girls and girls giving head and foot massages, polishing, hair and other stuff which people do for karva chauth. It was fun.”

What is Karva Chauth?

It is a festival in which married Hindu women observe a fast that they believe ensures their husband a long and prosperous life. It is an annual event that provides an opportunity for these married women to get close to their in- laws. Those who observe the fast abstain from food and water the whole day till the moon rises. According to the ritual, the women offer prayers to the moon. They look at the celestial orb through a sieve and then at their husbands through the same sieve.

Their husbands then feed them their first morsel of the day and their first sip of water, so they can break their fast. The women then feast on a specially prepared meal.
