Rahul Mahajan Returns From Honeymoon, Surrenders Passport

Rahul Mahajan, son of late Pramod Mahajan and a reality TV star who is facing trial in a case of alleged drug abuse today surrendered his passport in a Delhi court.

Rahul after returning from his honeymoon in the Maldives with newly-wed wife Dimpy, filed an application through his lawyer before Additional Sessions Judge J P S Malik and surrendered his passport.

Earlier, the court had allowed 35-year-old Mahajan to travel abroad with his newly-wed wife Dimpy Ganguly, 21, with whom his marriage was solemnised live during a TV reality show 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega' on March 7.

Releasing the passport, the court had imposed various conditions on him, including furnishing of a fixed deposit of Rs five lakh and a personal bond of same amount. Same condition was imposed on him when he was granted bail.

Earlier, he was granted permission by the court to visit Seychelles for honeymoon between August 30, 2006 to September 11, 2006 after his first marriage to Shweta Singh, a former pilot. They got divorced on August one, 2008. Mahajan, who was arrested on June 5, 2006, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, has been on bail in the case since June 14 that year.

The trial in the drug abuse case against Mahajan and others is yet to begin as the records are with the Delhi High court which is hearing various revision petitions against framing of charges under the NDPS Act.
