Why Gladrags President Maureen Wadia is angry with Dimpy Ganguly
Maureen Wadia is upset at Dimpy Ganguly, for breaching Gladrags contract and participating in Rahul Mahajan's Swayamvar. Maureen Wadia says Dimpy(above) participated in the TV show without informing Gladrags, which she is supposed to do under the contract she signed
Maureen Wadia is not very happy with Rahul Mahajan's bride. According to Wadia, Dimpy Ganguly, has violated the terms of a contract that she signed to be part of the Gladrags Mega Model Hunt 2009. The president of Gladrags Magazine claims she has been repeatedly trying to bring the breach of contract to Dimpy's notice but has not got a response from the contestant, NDTV Imagine or the Gangulys.
Wadia's claim is that Dimpy has participated in the TV show without duly informing Gladrags, which she is supposed to do under the three-year contract she signed during the contest. Dimpy had participated in the Model Hunt and had reached the semi-finals.
"What irritates me the most is that after putting in so much effort training her and turning her into somebody, you hope that she would have a shred of respect for the contract that she signed," snapped Wadia.
According to Wadia, neither Dimpy, her family or the channel have replied to the letter her office has sent them informing them about the breach of contract. "It has been three weeks since we sent out the letter. They keep saying we'll settle the case.
But it's not a case of settlement, it's a matter of sticking to your principles and breaking the rules," said the exasperated editor. She added, "If she hadn't participated in the Mega Model Hunt and I hadn't trained her to bring her to the level that she is at today, she wouldn't be on this show at all."
'Troublesome'
Wadia says she is not surprised about Dimpy's actions because she had a tough time dealing with the Kolkata-based model even during the model hunt. "I knew she was a troublesome girl from the moment I set my eyes on her. A number of times Dimpy would vanish after late night rehearsals and report at 4 pm for a 10 am call time. I had given her a solid firing during the pageant," she recalled.
Wadia is in no mood to take things quietly anymore, she plans to take legal recourse if she does not get a reply from those involved soon. "Such convenient amnesia on the part of the models has to stop," she said.
