Unlike Rakhi Sawant, Rahul Mahajan went ahead and got married on his reality show, Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega, last weekend. The bride of his choice was 21-year-old Dimpy Ganguly. The other finalists Harpreet and Nikunj Mallika had to go home disappointed.
We introduce you to Dimpy, who talks about what it's like being Mrs Rahul Mahajan.

How does it feel to be Mrs Rahul Mahajan?
I am on the top of the world! I feel I am the luckiest women on earth. I am very happy and cannot express myself in words. Rahul is exactly the way I dreamt my man to be.
You left a film to come on this show?
Yes. I was confirmed to come on this show when I was in talks with a film. But I decided to be a part of this show to know Rahul better. It was an impulsive decision. I got to know him better, fell in love and now I'm married to him (blushes)!
Will you work after marriage?
I was a model before coming on this show. Now that I am married, my priority is my marriage. But Rahul doesn't want me to be a housewife. I will definitely work after some time but I don't know what I will be doing yet.
How was it to meet his family?
The other girls on the show were nervous. But I was excited to meet his family because Rahul had told me so much about them. I felt at home when I met them.
Rahul may enter politics. How prepared are you for that?
Yes. I'm aware that Rahul comes from a political background. In fact, I want him to pursue his political career because he has a lot of potential to be a politician.
There is an age difference of 13 years between the two of you. Does that make you anxious?
I just realised it, after you reminded me. I am 21 years old, and could always relate to my older friends better. I never felt he was 13 years older during the show.
You have done quite a few bold photoshoots in Kolkata. Will you continue to do the same after marriage?
Obviously not. Now that I am married, I have a lot of responsibilities. I have done that, have been a model and am now looking forward to being an actress.
Maureen Wadia has slapped a showcause notice on you for breaking a contract with Gladrags and taking part in a television show. What do you have to say about that?
Marriage has been the only thing on my mind for some time now. I don't know what and who is saying this. I will look into the matter.
(Rahul interrupts us, and defends his new bride by stating that they cannot discuss the legalities with the media at the moment)
What are your career plans?
I want to become an actress. I want to do what I am good at. I am looking forward to doing Bengali films because that is where I come from.
You will be honeymooning in Maldives. Did you have any say in the choice of destination?
The channel gave Rahul a choice but he asked me for my opinion before letting them know.
It seemed like you had become friends with the other contestants by the end of the show. Will you miss Harpreet and Nikunj?
I didn't come on the show to make friends. I came to get to know Rahul better and marry him. At some point, I will miss them. But right now, I am basking in the glory of getting married to Rahul.
