Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly to Divorce? Rahul-Dimpy Split.

Celebrity couple Rahul Mahajan and his wife Dimpy Ganguly seems to be heading for a split after Dimpy walked out of Rahul's home alleging physcal violance and abuse.

In an interview to Mumbai based tabloid, Mumbai Mirror, Dimpy alleged that Rahul beat her up regularly and also pointed a gun to her head in one of their fights.

Dimpy left Rahul's home after a brawl with him on Thursday morning.

Rahul's secretary however denied the allegations. "Our lawyers will send a legal notice to dimpy regarding this," he said.

Rahul met Dimpy on a reality show, Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega after which they got married in March 2010.

At that time, Rahul had said, "This wedding is a second birth for me." Rahul was earlier married to his long time girlfriend Shweta Singh who divorced him in August 2008 alleging that he beat her.

When asked why he chose Dimpy out of 16,500 applicants, Rahul said, "From day one itself, Dimpy and I were very comfortable with each other. We are good friends now. I have always believed that a good friend will make a good wife, and that is what I saw in Dimpy. I can talk to her about everything. I don't have to be careful about my words or the way I talk. She is only 21 but is really matured for her age. She is always smiling. I love her for that."

However in four months the marriage seems to be cracking.

The first signs were visible last week when Rahul started sending sms to actress Payal Rohatgi who was his house mate on the reality show Bigg Boss.

Payal in an interview to a tabloid said that she did not wish to be in touch with Rahul because he was already married.

When Mumbai Mirror contacted Rahul, he denied the story and said, 'It is not true at all. I just had dinner with Dimpy's father.'

We tried contacting Rahul on his cellphone, but our calls went unanswered. Dimpy's cellphone on the other hand was switched off.

Dimpy Ganguly Accuses Rahul Mahajan of Physical Abuse. Dimpy Dumps Rahul and Walks Out of Marriage

In a sensational development, Kolkata-based model Dimpy Ganguly, who married Rahul Mahajan on NDTV Imagine's swayamvar reality show, Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, dumped him, alleging domestic violence.

Dimpy left Rahul's residence in Worli after she was beaten up by him.

Mumba Mirror published Dimpy's pictures where she was seen with injuries in her left thigh and swollen face. She also had bruises in both her hands.

According to the tabloid, the incident occurred on Thursday morning, when Rahul tried to open a message received by Dimpy Ganguly on her cell phone. He could not because the phone was locked. When he tried to awake Dimpy to unlock the phone, she reportedly asked him to let her sleep.

According to Dimpy's version, Rahul suddenly turned violent and thrashed her. She said he punched, kicked and dragged her by her hair. Her father arrived at Rahul's house at 4 pm after she related the incident to him over the phone. That's when she returned to the house, packed her bags and left.

"Rahul beat me up early on Thursday morning after waking me up to know the contents of a message that had beeped on my phone. When I asked him to go back to sleep, he flew into a rage and began hitting me. He punched, kicked and dragged me by hair," the 22-year-old model told a TV channel.

The tabloid quotes Rahul as saying: "It is not true at all. I just had dinner with Dimpy's father," he said.

Another source quoted says that the abuse had started just a month after their national TV wedding. "However, the intensity increased in the past month-and-a-half," he said.

Dimpy further said that the problems started after her insistence on appearing for her second year exam. Rahul was not happy with her trips to Kolkata for the same.

When he got angry, he would also get physical. "One such fight got so out of hand that I had to call my mother-in-law. Later he was angry that I had involved his mother in the affair," Dimpy said.

She also alleged that during another fight, Rahul had pointed a gun at her. "He is a nice guy, but when he loses it, there is no telling what he might do."

Their marriage was on the verge of collapse amid reports that Rahul was chasing old girlfriend Payal Rohtagi.

Rahul reportedly sent text messages to Payal, seeking a second chance. However, Payal rejected his overtures. Rahul Mahajan's first wife Shweta dumped him for the same reason - domestic violence.

Interestingly, Nikunj Mallik, who was dumped by Mahajan on the show, had a different tale to tell. In an interview to IBN, Mallick said, "We've heard Dimpy's story, it's important that we hear Rahul's side as well. On the show he came across as calm, composed and a controlled person."

This is not the first time Rahul, son of late Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan, has been accused of domestic violence. This is the second time that Rahul, who was also involved in a drug abuse case, has been accused of domestic violence.

Media reports had indicated his separation from his first wife, commercial pilot Shweta Singh, was because he used to hit her. The couple divorced in August 2008.

Shweta Singh, who was his childhood friend, had accused him of physically abusing her. The couple got divorced in 2008 after which Rahul participated in Colors' reality show "Big Boss". He continued to be in the limelight for his closeness with co-contestants Monica Bedi and Payal Rohatgi.

Incidentally, Rohatgi too has alleged harassment by Rahul, saying he has been calling her asking for a second chance.

"I just don't want to be harassed anymore. That's about it. I don't want to speak to him. He is a married guy," Rohatgi said.

Senior BJP leader Pratap Ashar, a close associate of Pramod Mahajan who was present at the live wedding function of Rahul and Dimpy, refused to be drawn into the controversy saying that he did not know anything. Dimpy Ganguli dumps Rahul Mahajan, after a night of abuse

Will Take Action If Rahul Mahajan's Wife Dimpy Ganguly Complains of Domestic Violence: Minister

Following reports that Dimpy Ganguly has walked out of her four-month-old marriage to Rahul Mahajan alleging domestic violence, Women and Child Development Minister Krishna Tirath Friday said a panel will look into the matter if the victim lodges a complaint with them.

'I will ask the National Commission for Women (NCW) to look into the matter if she (Dimpy) lodges a formal complaint with us. Domestic violence in no way is acceptable,' Tirath told reporters here.

Dimpy married Rahul, son of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Mahajan, on the Imagine TV reality show 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega' in March this year.

'Rahul beat me up early Thursday morning after waking me up to know the contents of a message that had beeped on my phone. When I asked him to go back to sleep, he flew into a rage and began hitting me. He punched, kicked and dragged me by the hair,' the 22-year-old Kolkata-based model told a TV channel.

Rahul has been accused of domestic violence for the second time. Earlier, his first wife Shweta Singh had accused him of physically abusing her. They separated in 2008.

Rahul Mahajan Can't Wait to Have Children

Rahul Mahajan, who married Bengali girl Dimpy Ganguly on a TV show, is now keen to extend his family. In his latest media interaction/interview he said he now wants to have kids. But as a husband he feels he should wait for a while.

"I want children. But when I give it all a thought, I feel that as a husband I must wait and it will all come with time. On the contrary, as a father, I want children to come quickly. I can't wait!" Rahul told IANS.

Rahul, son of late Bhartiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan, says he has been enjoying his life ever since he married Dimpy March 6 on Imagine TV's reality show 'Rahul Dulhania Le Jaayega'.

The couple registered their marriage last week -> View Pictures Here

"We have been keeping busy making the most of our courtship period. We go for drives, shopping, night-outs, and we may plan another holiday in July. So I want work to take a backseat for two to three months to enjoy this time knowing my wife," said Rahul, who is currently playing host to his parents-in-law and sister-in-law.

Rahul was recently put through a loyalty test by his wife on UTV Bindass' show on infidelity, 'Emotional Atyachaar'. And he emerged clean. Though he didn't mind being spied upon, he was disappointed that he failed to understand that it was all a trap.

"I always used to think I am James Bond, very smart and alert. I always thought that I would get to know if anyone will spy upon me. But this time I was taken for a ride. I really felt bad about it. But no grudges against Dimpy," he said.

Rahul is happy that his wife chose to prove the world wrong about the questions people have been raising about his integrity.

"I don't think Dimpy did anything wrong by putting me through this. I don't think there's a need to question her as to why she chose to do this. After all she is my wife, not my girlfriend. Whatever she wants to do is her decision and she can do whatever she likes."

"I know she didn't do it to test her trust and faith in me, so I took it very lightly and on a jovial note," he added.

Rahul had earlier married childhood friend Shweta Singh in 2006, but separated from her two years later.

The three witnesses that signed the marriage registration are Sameer Nair CEO, Imagine, Sazila Alana, from Sol Production and Ausuja Sayed Mohammed, Rahul's manager.

Rahul Mahajan and his new wife Dimpy (alias Soumasri Ganguly) who got married in a blaze of publicity at the culmination of a reality show recently, turned up at the citizen facilitation centre of the G-South ward office at Dadar on Tuesday to make their marriage official - with a duly registered marriage certificate.

The couple had applied for the certificate on April 19 and it was miraculously ready within a day.

Rahul accompanied his wife with three witnesses in tow - Sameer Nair, Allana Fazila Sahabuddin and Auasaja Sayed Mohammed.

In his application form, Rahul had mentioned that he got married at the Leela Palace hotel in Mumbai on March 6. Rahul married Dimpy on NDTV Imagine's show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega on March 6. Its official, Dimpy is Mrs Mahajan.

Rahul Mahajan Wanted to Marry Payal Rohtagi on His Show, Offered Her Rs 1 Crore to Appear

Did Rahul Mahajan offer Rs.1 Crore to Payal Rohatgi to appear on the show 'Rahul Dulaniya Le Jayega', Yes claims Payal.

Payal Rohatgi is a happy girl these days. Busy with making appearances in several cities of India, the girl has just returned from Jaipur. Ask her about whom she is seeing and she is quick to say, "Where are the boys?" However, quiz her on her relationship with Rahul Mahajan and she begs, "Please he is a married man, and I am not in touch with him. We used to be friends but that was a long time ago."

Of Rahul's swayamvar and consequent shaadi to Dimpy, Payal doesn't think much. She tells us, "Rahul had come to me and asked me to be a part of his Swayamvar. The concept didn't excite me at all. He also offered to pay me Rs. 1 crore to be a part of it... You see, he wanted a friend around. But I was used enough in Bigg Boss 2 to know better," she confessed.

As of now, Payal claims not to be in frequent touch with her once upon a time good friend Rahul Mahajan. And no amount of money is going to heal the friendship.

Have you realised anything about each other that you didn't know earlier?
Dimpy can pack bags... fold shirts... she knows a bit of cooking... still discovering her.. Rahul gets up real early...

When you are constantly in front of the camera, you will be faking everything or playing it up. How do you know that you've really understood each other?
in fact we got a lot of time off the camera...without make-up and get-up...

Hi Dimpy, do you think marriage to Rahul will last a while?
ofcourse it will...I have feeling it will...

@ Dimpy: Rahul is notorious for his flirtatious ways? Why did you decide to get married to him?
I have a very different opinion about him... i feel very nice when he gets all the women attention... and not only male attention...

How successful do you think a marriage based on a television show will be?
marriage is a marriage... wherever it be!!

Do you believe in 'reality' marriages?
Every marriage is in reality.. jab se camera aaya hai sab log apni shaadi ki video recording karate hain ...the only difference with my marriage was that my marriage was telecast live in tv...

@ Rahul: Y did you have to get married like this, why not through a online wedding portal…Bharat and Shaadi had some good looking women, better than Dimpy (My personal opinion)
Eveybody gets married on the dotcom...but I consider myself the luckiest to get married on Television...

@Rahul: Did you ever feel confused between Dimpy and anyone else on the show? Who was it and why was the confusion?
I think when I decide there was no confusion.... even If I had a confusion i cant disclose it now...maar nahi khaani hai Dimpy se!

@Dimpy: Who was your toughest competition on the show? And why?
I really ever take this as a competition... no competitive feeling at all...

When can see pictures from the honeymoon? Do send them to Sify....
that will be immoral and illegal...

How was your honeymoon? Where did you guys go?
we went to Maldives..it was beautiful... more than a paradise...can't disclose anything more than this...

@Dimpy: What do your parents think about Rahul? Do you feel scared to join the Mahajan clan?
Well my parents adore Rahul...they feel secured when i am with Rahul...I m not scared about anything because Rahul has made me very comfortable and I share a gr8 relation with my mother-in-law...

Did you ever have second thoughts about the wedding?
No! we both didnt...I was 100% sur about the marriage even before the show started... Dimpy has not been so sure about anything in her life except this marriage...

Hi Dimpy, what did you like so much about Rahul?
I think his intelligence... it keeps me going... I can talk to him about everything n anything... he is very caring husband...

@Rahul: If ur father were alive do u think he wud have okd this facade?
he would have been proud...

@Dimpy. How do you handle Rahul's flirtatious streak?
I have not seen it since marriage...so cant comment...

@Rahul Is it true that Nikunj Malik told you she wasn't interested in getting married to you a couple of days before D-day?
I cant comment anything on that ...I wish the best for her... n I wish she gets a better groom then me...

@Rahul Harpreet seemed heartbroken at your choice. Did you console her later?
Harpreet is our friend n she will always be our friend!

@Rahul Was Dimpy your first choice? Or was there anyone else initially? If so, who?
first choice was Dimpy!

Seriously! This is such a fake wedding! Do you really expect us to believe you are in love? Give me one good reason why i shud believe you found your soulmates in each other?
We dont have to give you a reason ...we have to give our family a reason... of what we do...why we do n so on...

Rahul Mahajan Swayamvar Cheap Says Payal Rohatgi Reacting to Rahul's TV Wedding

She usually goes with a ‘no comments’ response when enquired about Rahul Mahajan’s Marriage on reality Television, but for once, Payal Rohatgi is ready to call a spade a spade. And she calls this one a “cheap show.”

Heres Payal's Reaction to Rahul Mahajan's Very Public Wedding with Dimpy Ganguly.

“I understand reality shows are the flavour of the season, and Bigg Boss got me the kind of publicity that nothing else did. But you have to have limits to how far you can go to get what you want. This swayamvar on television looks like a very desperate bid to get money and fame,” says Payal. “The next reality show on TV will be what? A honeymoon or a child’s delivery?” she asks, apparently disgusted at the thought, and then adds, “I wouldn’t want to jeopardise my career by being part of something like this.”

That, of course, doesn’t mean that Payal has had enough of reality TV. She almost agreed to do another reality show - one being made on the backdrop of a village - but backed out later. And she’s now training her sight on Bollywood. “I know television is a strong medium today but I want to grow as a film actor,” she says. “Also, doing TV is very strenuous. It takes a toll on you. I did one show in 2008 (Bigg Boss Season 2) and spent the whole of 2009 recouping from it,” she laughs. “On the other hand, movies have their own pace and time, you know, they have more substantive roles to offer to an actor.”

And the movie she will be giving her time to requires her to get into the shoes of a television journalist. Payal doesn’t want to say too much too soon and would rather wait for the movie to go on the floor before talking about it, but she does tell us that the film is being made around 26/11 and shows “how journalists need to control their emotions even at such precarious times and yet work to secure TRPs for their channels.”

And while she doesn’t feel she needs to do too much homework - having seen enough TV journalists in her life - for this role, she does take acting seriously. And there’s reason to believe that. With some free time on hand, she has signed up for theatre workshops with Quasar Padamsee - Dolly and Alyque Padamsee’s son. “I thought it would help me improve my acting skills,” she shares.

Harpreet Chabra's Reaction To Rahul Mahajan's Wedding

Harpreet Chabra was one of the contestants on the reality show, Rahul Dulhania Le Jayega, on NDTV Imagine. Harpreet is a model and anchor by profession. Here is what she had to say about Rahul Mahajan marrying Dimply Ganguly after the Swayamvar.
In an interview, Harpreet said that Marriages are made in heaven, only one of us three could have got married to Rahul. All three of us liked him but it was a question of Rahul's life and who he would like for his life partner. So Rahul had to chose the one he liked most, like they say, the first amoung the best, and that has been Dimpy, he chose her. Congratulations to both Dimpy and Rahul. Good Luck.

When she was told about a public poll where she was the No.1 choice of the janta, she said "Rahul has always been saying 'Sununga sabki karunga manki', I think this time too he listened to everyone but followed what his heart said. So he only chose the one he loved. One can live her life with him only if his heart accepts her. He cannot go by the public opinion or poll, then it will not succeed".

Throughout the show, I have been saying to Rahul God Bless You. From what I have seen of him, I think Rahul is a very nice person. He will stay as a special person in my life. I have very good memories of the time I spent with him and other contestants at Fatehgarh and Mumbai. In the End I would like to again say to Rahul 'God bless you!'

Priyadarshani Singh Speaks After Rahul Mahajan's Swayamvar Wedding

It has always been Priyadarshani Singh's dream to marry Rahul Mahajan. So when the reality show Rahul Dulhania Le Jayega was launched on NDTV Imagine, she promptly auditioned. The 24-year-old girl's dream was short-lived and she was eliminated. Here is what she thinks about Rahul Mahajan's wedding and her opinion on Mrs Dimpy Ganguly Mahajan

The first thing I would like to say is, I always told Rahul not to go by external appearances, but to use his brain. That was also the last sentence I said to Rahul as I left the show. Atleast amoung the last three finalists, Dimpy is the better choice. But there was no option for him and he had to chose one of the three.

Dimpy was one of my favourites amoung all the contestants. I like her and I have even told her the same. I am glad that he didn't marry one people who was made to get off the stage after the Swayamvar. Atleast he didn't marry that Useless person (Referring to Nikunj with whom she always had altercations on the show).

I Don’t Like People Raising Questions About My Wife: Rahul Mahajan

They Should Learn To Respect Her as Mrs Mahajan and Leave Her Alone, says Rahul.

Rahul Mahajan has rushed to the defence of his new bride Dimpy, whose bikini-clad item girl days were revealed by a tabloid after their televised marriage this week.

“All these big stars who sport bikinis or kiss on screen are paid in crores, and get called classy. I don’t see any reason to make a hue and cry about Dimpy’s bikini shoots,” says the star of reality show Rahul Dulhania Le Jayega.

HT City has found pictures of a bikini clad Dimpy smouldering into the camera. The tabloid said she was known for her bold scenes and a ‘hot number’ in the Bangla film Hello Memsaheb.

“She has told me everything about her past... it’s behind her now,” Mahajan says. “I don’t like people raising questions about my wife. She is my wife now and people should learn to respect her as Mrs Mahajan. I know who she is and I am proud of her.”

Mahajan adds that such reports were designed to malign his image. “I am used to such rumours, and they have stopped affecting me since I have gone through worse. First people spread rumours about me not getting married and now they are trying to portray it in a negative light,” he says, “We are happily married, so please just stop talking about my wife and leave us alone.”

Producer of Hello Memsaheb, Arijit Biswas, says Dimpy has a bold and go-getting attitude. “She is quite free in front of the camera. Her camera-friendly attitude will surely take her places,” he says.

A city court on Tuesday allowed Rahul Mahajan to leave the country to go on a honeymoon with his newly wedded wife Dimpy Ganguly.

Rahul Mahajan With His Newly Wed Wife Dimpy Ganguly at a Delhi Court For Hearing in Connection with His Application For Release Of His Passport. Rahul's Passport has Been Under Court Custody Since His Ivolvement In Drug Abuse Case in 2006.

Special judge JPS Malik granted Rahul the permission and released his passport. But he will need to furnish a surety bond of Rs 500,000 and register his marriage within two months. Rahul who was in the court, appeared pleased with the decision.

He married Dimpy Ganguly on a TV reality show on Sunday. Rahul, son of late senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Mahajan, in his March 5 application had said he wanted to "go to the Maldives and Ireland for his honeymoon on March 9 and stay there till March 30".

Rahul's passport has been in the court's custody since his trial in a drug abuse case in 2006 and he was not allowed to leave the country without the court's permission.

Rahul and his father's secretary Vivek Moitra were admitted to Apollo Hospital here June 2, 2006, after they allegedly consumed contraband drugs laced with alcohol at Pramod Mahajan's then official residence at 7, Safdarjung Road. Moitra died in hospital.

Rahul was let off drug trafficking charges, which entail a harsher punishment, but was booked for consumption of banned drugs.

Rahul Mahajan had a bad experience with his first marriage. He made a bold decision to take a second go at this life-changing commitment through a medium as public as television. Apparently, he still is very happy of that decision and adores his choice - Dimpy Ganguly. He vows to be by her side and through all the decisions of her life. Of course, he hints he expects the same from her too!

Interview After Wedding: Over to the newlyweds…

How are feeling now Rahul?
Rahul: I feel very happy. It was a dream to get married and now it's happened.

Why did you chose Dimpy?
Dimpy as I always say is my very good friend. In fact, we are best friends. And that's very important. So I chose her.

How much did you get paid to do this show?
Rahul: Money is not an issue. So I don't want to go into it right now. My whole intention was to get married and not money.

Dimpy, do you find Rahul having all the qualities of your dream boy?
Dimpy: He is exactly what I had dreamt of. He IS my dream boy.

Is your next step to get into a show like Pati Patni Aur Woh?
Rahul: (Laughs) No till now there's no such plan. We're leaving for Maldives on the 10th and will be returning on the 24th. So I will make future plans only after returning.

Dimpy, isn't there a wide age gap between you two?
Dimpy: Yes, there is an age difference. But I've always had friends who belong to an older age group than my age group. I relate to my older friends better than those my age. Even though he is 13 years older than me I don't really think that's something that should bother me.

Many rumors stated you were to tie the knot to Nikunj but changed your mind in the last minute. Was there any truth to this?
Rahul: Rumors, are what they are - rumors. Nikunj, Dimpy and Harpreet were the three girls I had to choose from. And I chose to marry the one I love.

How and when did you realize Dimpy is the one?
Rahul: When I saw her during mehndi, during sangeet, when I saw her mehndi getting darker and darker…that time my gut feeling kept telling me that yes, Dimpy is the one.

Dimpy will you continue on your way to becoming a model?
Rahul: She's just 21, she's got a long way to go. I'm sure she will succeed in whatever she takes up and I will support her fully in all her endeavors. I am confident that Dimpy will also support me in all my projects.

What do you have to say on the violation of Gladrags contract by Dimpy for which Maureen Wadia had sued her?
Rahul: According to me, if you want to get married you just require your parents' permission. And for all those who did this cheap publicity stunt, I really have nothing to say.

Rahul, you used to praise all three girls equally. Now that you've chosen Dimpy, what will your reaction to the other girls be?
Rahul: It was always known to all of us that my marriage can take place with only one person. All the girls gave me so much love so I will always maintain a sense of respect towards them.

Poonam Mahajan's absence at the wedding remains unexplained…Rahul: Poonam has taken a decision to stay away from politics and for that matter any kind of limelight. She is serious about her decision and we respect that.

Don't you feel these kind of reality shows end up hurting sentiments, for example in this show Nikunj and Harpreet got hurt?
Rahul: Everyone knew at the beginning of the show that many hearts are going to get broken. It's not just them who got hurt, even I got hurt. But that was necessary to make the choice.

Dimpy when did you start modeling?
Dimpy: I started modeling in 2008. I've been into all kinds of modeling…print, movies, ramp…

You are going to shift your base from Kolkata to Mumbai now?
Dimpy: Well, Mumbai is my sasural now so…(laughs).

So you'll be working in Mumbai now?
Dimpy: Well, I'd like to give my married life more importance at first.

Rahul you've been through a difficult past, so with what feelings did you take up the Swayamvar?
Rahul: Well, not everyone gets a second chance. God has given me a second chance and I'm happy about it. In fact I feel I've taken a second birth on 6th March. In fact we both share the same birthday too- 25th July. I think it's a new start for me and now I should concentrate on the future and not the past. Most of the times we waste our lives by worrying about either the future or the past but I'm living in the present and making the best out of it.

Is a month enough to know a person?
Rahul: See, it's not a matter of a month or ten days or ten years. Either you strike a chord or you don't. There were a lot of off-camera moments when I got to know every individual. But apart from that if feel this is all designed by the divine powers. Many a times you love a person so much yet you end up not marrying that person. I think my union of Dimpy has been possible only because God willed it.

Will you be ever getting mixed up in politics?
Rahul: Politics was never away I think. But entertainment business is to make my bread and butter. First I'll try to settle my family then the people in the country.

But you will continue to be involved in the entertainment industry?
Rahul: Yes, because politics is not a business no? The salary of MPs is not even enough to buy clothes. For politics you need to work from the grassroots level for a span of an entire generation. If people want me to be a leader then it's their choice. I will try to connect with people and if I feel I deserve then only I will contest otherwise I won't.

So will entertainment be sidelined?
Rahul: No no like I said I will always be involved with entertainment industry.

What about films?
Rahul: Yes I will take films but after giving it a lot of thought. Because films are a very dicey thing, sometimes they go this way and sometimes they go that way. So only after giving it a lot of thought will I take up any project. People have seen me in certain ways in shows. I need to bear that in mind too. So I will take a decision with a sound mind.

What about passport issues?
Rahul: I can just hope that the authorities in Delhi give me permission, you know…it's not in my hands…I can only pray…you can also pray for me.

Nikunj said in a statement that she does not want to get married to you.
Rahul: Later she explained to me that she was misquoted.

Dimpy, when you were in Kolkata you did some bold photo shoots. Will that continue now also?
Dimpy: Obviously now that I'm married, I have some responsibilities; actually I am done being a model. I want to grow as an actress now.

Rahul bursts: Bold, what you mean by bold. Just because she poses on a beach wearing a bikini, you can't call it bold. If the same is done by a Julia Roberts or a Charlize Theron or the big actresses of Bollywood you call it stylish. They get paid higher so ultimately it's about money no? Money is making a person. I don't agree with such a loosely used term of 'bold'. I will always stand by her and so will my friends and family. She has done nothing wrong so far.

Is it okay with you if she continues doing that?
Rahul: If there is true demand for it in the market and if somebody can afford the rates she's charging for a calendar shoot (laughs), then yeah sure.

Is this show a product of the demand of the market?
Rahul: I don't know, it's my life. Today's my last press conference with Imagine. I think it's our life now. The boat is already in the ocean. It doesn't matter if it's about market. After one year there will be somebody else and you'll be talking to that person.

What are the similarities and differences between you two?
Rahul: We don't judge each other. But our food habits differ. I'm a vegetarian and she being a Bengali is a non-vegetarian. I get angry very fast and she doesn't.

Reaction of Nikunj Malik to Rahul Mahajan's Wedding With Dimpy Ganguly

Here is Nikunj Malik's Interview After the Swayamvar...

Nikunj Mallik

Mysteriously, Rahul Mahajan seemed like great marriage material to besotted young girls (or they put up a very good act, at any rate) on Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega. Nikunj Malik, one of the three finalists, decided to stop looking at him through rose-tinted glasses and is now rather vocal about her dislike. She says, “I feel Dimpy is perfect for Rahul as both have similar habits and lifestyles, which is not very acceptable to me. Though Rahul was quite interested in me, which was quite evident, I realised he’s not the kind of person I’d like to spend my life with.”

A man never changes his spots, darling, so what possessed her to go for someone like Rahul? She says, “For the past two years, there has been no negative publicity about him. When at 35, a man wants to settle down and have a family, that worked for me. He is a nice man, but it’s obvious there is no visible improvement. It was the drinking, smoking and Casanova nature that bothered me.” Was there any drinking and misbehaving? She replies, “Was he drunk in the evenings? You can say that. But even when super drunk, he never misbehaved.”

And the drugs? She pauses and says, “I have not seen him taking drugs, so I would not like to comment on that.”

Nikunj does not approve Rahul Mahajan's choice for lifepartner. Cynics would say that it sounds like a case of sour grapes, but she reacts by saying “I would’ve appreciated if he’d chosen Harpreet, who is very well behaved as compared to Dimpy. Dimpy is an antisocial element, who runs away from her house at every given opportunity, she ran away from the beauty contest. She gets drunk, sloshed and wasted.”

What about the fact that he kept touching women constantly? She says primly, “In our society, hugging and pecking on the cheek is acceptable. I always maintained my dignity and made him stay within his limits. If you let him do that, he will do it.”

So, did Dimply ‘let’ him? Pat comes the reply, “Obviously yes, in fact, she forced him. She attracted him and wanted him to do all that.”

Nikunj’s parents also did not approve of the prospective son-in-law. She says, “They verbally bashed him and said don’t bother my daughter with your behaviour.” After the home visit, Nikunj had hinted to Rahul that the marriage wouldn’t work.

After the show, what future is she looking forward to? She says, “I was there for the marriage, not the publicity. It has come my way wantingly or not wantingly (sic) and I will take up opportunities. I would not want to waste my qualification as a designer.”

Will the marriage last, in her opinion? With great disdain she concludes, “I hope it does. If you would’ve taken a national poll, Dimpy’s percentage of votes would have been few. He’s narrowed down his future as a politician by choosing her as his wife.”

Rahul's Sister Poonam Mahajan Talks On Why She Skipped Her Brother’s Wedding

Rahul Mahajan With Younger Sister Poonam

BJP Youth Wing Leader Poonam Mahajan Spills The Beans On why She Skipped Her Brother’s Big Fat TV Wedding

The Mahajans have a way of making it to the headlines. This time it is Rahul, who tied the knot, for the second time, with a 21-year-old Bengali model and item girl in a televised event on Saturday which was attended by his mother, but not his sister. Poonam Mahajan-Rao, who had always stood by her elder brother during the darkest phases of his life - the drug scandal for instance – was missing from the scene. This sent the media and commentators in a tizzy, as Rahul and his spokespersons found themselves struggling to deal with speculations that Poonam, who is a BJP youth wing leader, wanted to stay away from the reality drama.

After considerable effort, Mirror managed to speak to Poonam. “I am a very private person, and for me, an event like a marriage is a private affair.” However, Rahul’s ‘private affair’ was a high-voltage mega-TRP-driven event with millions watching it live as it unfolded. When asked why she didn’t join in the much-watched ceremony, Poonam said, "I am the kind of person who prefers to sit at home rather than make a show out of things. I even keep my son's birthday party as private as possible. That's how I am."

Incidentally, Poonam was very much around when Rahul married his childhood sweetheart Shweta in a private ceremony in 2006. They divorced two years later. Speaking about her own wedding which was a low-key affair, Poonam said, "Ten years ago, I made a choice of getting married to the person I wanted to. Now, Rahul has made his choice and being his sister support him entirely."

When asked if there are any differences within the Mahajan family over Rahul's choice and decision, Poonam said, "Rahul is my elder brother and his decisions are totally his. I will be there for him just like I've always been there for him, even during the tough times. I wish him all the luck with this marriage. Together, we want to take forward our father's legacy by helping each other." Not just Poonam, missing from what was purported to be Rahul's big day was his uncle Gopinath Munde, BJP national general secretary and MP. Munde has been constantly by the side of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's family since he was shot dead three years ago by younger brother Pravin.

BJP sources said Munde along with national president Nitin Gadkari and leader of state legislature Eknath Khadse were in Nashik for their felicitation. "The felicitation programme was finalised few months ago and Munde had accepted the invitation. In fact he made it a point to attend the Nashik event as his absence at previous felicitation event in Aurangabad was being blamed on intra party tussle with Gadkari,'' a party leader remarked.

But the speculations over Poonam's absence refuse to die down. "Poonam may have deliberately decided not to attend the wedding for political reasons. She is keen to establish herself politically and does not want to get embroiled in any controversy,'' the source said.

Mrs Rahul Mahajan has performed a hot item number too.
A little known fact: Dimpy (or Saumyoshri) Ganguly, the new bride of Rahul Mahajan has done some hot scenes in the Bengali film Hello Memsaheb. Here are some photos and scenes from the film.

Dimpy says, Jeet is my boss at the workplace and we flirt a lot

Here is an interview of Dimpy, that she had given to promote the film Hello Memsaab...

Daredevil Dimpy Talks About her role in the Film Hello Memsaheb

This no-holds-barred glam girl is model Dimpi Ganguly, who’s all of 20 and raring to set the big screen ablaze.

Dimpi has hit the dance floor for an item number where she looks and moves like Mallika Sherawat in the Maiyya maiyya track from Guru. That’s not all — she’s also playing a role (resembling Kareena Kapoor’s in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham) in the Jeet-Priyanka Trivedi-starrer Hello Memsaheb.

“My item number Mehbooba mehbooba is for Mainak Dasgupta’s film Purple Haze. I love to dance and my choreographer James gave me some fantastic moves like Mallika Sherawat’s in Guru. My costumes are also like hers.... I don’t mind doing item numbers. I don’t have any inhibitions,” declares Dimpi, who will be seen “flirting” with Jeet in Shiboprasad Mukherjee’s Hello Memsaheb, now in the post-production stage.

“I could relate to my role in Hello Memsaheb. I play Jeeta, a glamorous and stylish girl with a diva-like attitude, something like Kareena Kapoor’s Poo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Jeet is my boss at the workplace and we flirt a lot. Priyankadi (Trivedi) plays a simple girl who’s not fashionable at all and I give her a lot of tips on how to go glam and win a man. In real life too, I have friends who come to me for tips on fashion,” she smiles.

“I had got an offer to play Ratri opposite Parambrata (Chatterjee) in the Zee Bangla mega serial Utsaber Ratri. But my sights were set on films. Arijit Films, the producer of Hello Memsaheb, approached me for the role of Jeeta and I was chosen after an audition,” adds Dimpi.

The Sananda Tilottama 2007 second runner-up is a regular on the ramp but movies are where her heart lies. The reason?

“Modelling is short-lived while an actress matures with films. I want to do films and as long as I can relate to my roles I will do anything, be it playing a character or doing an item number,” says the spunky girl.
