Dimpy Ganguly Says Payal Rohatgi is Hounding Her Hubby Rahul Mahajan

MUMBAI: After describing the physical abuse she endured at the hands of her husband, reality television regular Rahul Mahajan, model Dimpy Ganguly has asked the media to respect her privacy. Though she will be returning to her hometown in Kolkata with her father on Sunday for a week, Ganguly defended her husband after his ex-girlfriend, actor Payal Rohatgi, accused him of abuse.


On Saturday, she slammed Rohatgi for "taking advantage of their family problems".

"I will not hear anything against my husband. What I revealed about our marriage to the media, I did because I have that right as a wife. But nobody else has the right to speak against him," said Ganguly. "It is Payal who has been harassing my husband, calling him up at odd hours and sending him SMSs. But Rahul and I do not like to malign people. I request Payal to stop this behaviour. I will not hear anything against my husband." Rohatgi has denied these allegations.

Rohatgi said Mahajan bombarded her with SMSs and calls. He dialled the landline and left a message with the maid, threatening to end his life, she alleged.

"Dimpy is going there for a week as work is pending. All is well in the family now," a Mahajan family spokesperson said.

Rahul Mahajan who was also accused of beating his first wife has apparently abused almost all the women he's been with. After Dimpy's allegations about domestic abuse, actress Payal Rohtagi has broken her silence about Rahul's violent ways. The actress who looked visibly upset with Dimpy's fate revealed that she has also been the victim of Rahul's rage. "He did hit me twice. Once he banged my head against the door. When Rahul is angry, he completely loses his mind." she revealed.

On being asked whether she had met Dimpy, the actress replied, "I don't live in the past. It's been a long time. But after hearing the news of beating I felt very bad for her, nobody should be treated like that. She is a woman I can understand that."

The actress claims things were not fine between Rahul and his new wife Dimpy. "When I spoke out about Dimpy and Rahul in a previous interview, Dimpy denied everything and said that all was fine between her and Rahul, but the next day the news of him beating her came out. This itself speaks a lot about how much was fine between them." she said.

Talking about Rahul Mahajan on the reality show Big Boss, Payal said, "Rahul is only bothered about himself, He can sue anybody"

Are you surprised that Rahul's marriage has hit the rocks so soon?

Knowing Rahul, I am not surprised. He loves to change partners. For him, swayamvar was a gimmick. He offered me big money to participate in the show (pauses).

Rahul has been harassing me since the past two months. He has been sending me very odd messages at odd hours. Initially, I ignored his calls and messages, but eventually, I told him to lay off. But he continued.

What exactly has he been telling you?

He said, 'I am sorry. We should work out things between us again.' It all smacked of desperation. But Rahul is not a man of his word.

How long were you in a relationship with him?

Eight months. I was very serious about him and made a fool of myself.

Is Rahul aggressive?

Men have that in them if they are under the influence of something.

Drinks? Drugs?

No comments. Don't drag me there.

What do you have to say about the company he keeps?

He is surrounded by people who don't advise him well.

You haven't answered my question. Is Rahul aggressive?

Yes, he is aggressive if and when he loses it.

How often does he lose it?

(Laughs) I didn't count. But if he loses it, he is vindictive too.

Did he hit you?

Yes. It happened just before we went for Bigg Boss 3. I was late by only 15 minutes and he accused me of having an affair with my co-actor Irrfan Khan.

I was living-in with him then. When I reached home, he was so angry he banged my head against a door. I was bleeding. He then he started cajoling me. The doctor was called. Rahul told him I had fallen in the bathroom.

Any other incident of violence?

Once I didn't take his call since I was busy. He slapped me when we met.

Describe Rahul as a boyfriend.

When he is wooing you, he will shower gifts and call you 200 times a day. But then, he changes colours. It takes very little to arouse his suspicions. Once suspicious, he creates hell. He is not even a dependable friend. Rahul is not a stable guy.

Why didn't you try to change him?

It is very difficult to change a 34-year-old.

Do you repent that you were swayed by Rahul's connections?

No. Life is a teacher isn't it?

You think that the two finalists (Nikunj Malik, Harpreet Chhabra) in swayamvar who lost to Dimpy were lucky?

Yes. And I was luckier than them. Only Dimpy...(sighs)

Payal Rohatgi is a happy girl these days. Busy with making appearances in several cities of India, the girl has just returned from Jaipur. Ask her about whom she is seeing and she is quick to say, "Where are the boys?" However, quiz her on her relationship with Rahul Mahajan and she begs, "Please he is a married man, and I am not in touch with him. We used to be friends but that was a long time ago."

Of Rahul's swayamvar and consequent shaadi to Dimpy, Payal doesn't think much. She tells us, "Rahul had come to me and asked me to be a part of his Swayamvar. The concept didn't excite me at all. He also offered to pay me Rs. 1 crore to be a part of it... You see, he wanted a friend around. But I was used enough in Bigg Boss 2 to know better," she confessed.

As of now, Payal claims not to be in frequent touch with her once upon a time good friend Rahul Mahajan. And no amount of money is going to heal the friendship.

She usually goes with a ‘no comments’ response when enquired about Rahul Mahajan’s Marriage on reality Television, but for once, Payal Rohatgi is ready to call a spade a spade. And she calls this one a “cheap show.”

“I understand reality shows are the flavour of the season, and Bigg Boss got me the kind of publicity that nothing else did. But you have to have limits to how far you can go to get what you want. This swayamvar on television looks like a very desperate bid to get money and fame,” says Payal. “The next reality show on TV will be what? A honeymoon or a child’s delivery?” she asks, apparently disgusted at the thought, and then adds, “I wouldn’t want to jeopardise my career by being part of something like this.”

That, of course, doesn’t mean that Payal has had enough of reality TV. She almost agreed to do another reality show - one being made on the backdrop of a village - but backed out later. And she’s now training her sight on Bollywood. “I know television is a strong medium today but I want to grow as a film actor,” she says. “Also, doing TV is very strenuous. It takes a toll on you. I did one show in 2008 (Bigg Boss Season 2) and spent the whole of 2009 recouping from it,” she laughs. “On the other hand, movies have their own pace and time, you know, they have more substantive roles to offer to an actor.”

And the movie she will be giving her time to requires her to get into the shoes of a television journalist. Payal doesn’t want to say too much too soon and would rather wait for the movie to go on the floor before talking about it, but she does tell us that the film is being made around 26/11 and shows “how journalists need to control their emotions even at such precarious times and yet work to secure TRPs for their channels.”

And while she doesn’t feel she needs to do too much homework - having seen enough TV journalists in her life - for this role, she does take acting seriously. And there’s reason to believe that. With some free time on hand, she has signed up for theatre workshops with Quasar Padamsee - Dolly and Alyque Padamsee’s son. “I thought it would help me improve my acting skills,” she shares.

Rahul Threatens to Commit Suicide - Payal Rohatgi

Just a day after Rahul Mahajan’s wife Dimpy Ganguly walked out of his house, and quickly walked back, ex girlfriend Payal Rohatgi says he’s been intimidating her as well.

Payal and Mahajan were both participants on the somewhat controversial reality show ‘Bigg Boss 2’. They were dating at that point of time. She has complained that Rahul has been calling her land line and has threatened to commit suicide if Payal doesn’t talk to him.

Rahul, in fact has been calling her for the last two months is known but the suicide threats have just started recently. She is definitely threatened as she lives alone in Mumbai. She is petrified and is thinking that Rahul might send someone over to kill her.

Payal’s mother, who is in Ahmedabad currently, is disturbed with the whole situation and has been calling Payal several times a day just to check up on her. Payal is also very irritated since she feels the need to focus on a career and not be distracted by a dead relationship.
