Ameesha Patel’s Grandmother Susheela Patel Passes Away

The actress, who had once accused her parents of embezzling her career earnings, was rather close to her granny Susheela Patel

The Patel household is in a state of shock. Ameesha and Ashmit Patel lost their paternal grandmother on Thursday night. Ameesha’s grandmother Susheela Patel breathed her last at 10.30 pm, after suffering from a prolonged illness. The entire family rushed the next morning to attend to her last rites.

Ameesha was very close to her grandmother. She used to spend a lot of quality time with her and would often take her out too. Having suffered from a chequered equation with her parents, whom she once accused of embezzling her career earnings, Ameesha was rather close to her grandmother. Her patch-up with her parents last December could well have been her grandmother’s doing. This therefore is a big loss for the actor.

Her sibling, a grieving Ashmit Patel, said, “She had been bedridden for the past couple of years due to a car accident she suffered in 2005. She was extremely alert, intuitive and full of life. In her last 10 days, she suffered a lot. But she passed away peacefully on Thursday night. She was very close both to my sister and me. It’s quite a shock for us. More so for my sister because she had taken care of her singlehandedly for the past five-six years.”

Incidentally Ameesha was shooting in Hyderabad for a Telegu film when she heard the news. She rushed to Pune immediately to attend to the last rites, accompanied with her recently-reconciled mother.

Ameesha is close friends with the Dutts, and she went over to their place for dinner recently. And then she posted a picture of Manyata on her Twitter account, with the comment 'My jaan maanayatta'.

Ameesha followed this up with saying, "My very pregnant Maanayatta." And then she posted a picture with the Dutt couple - "My 2 favorites. Sanju n Mana."

We have to say, so sweet to see such bonding between the stars! Manyata is said to be expecting twins, and she really looks like she's loving the experience.

After months of buzz, Italian lifestyle brand Diesel has entered the Indian market with two stores stacked with apparels, accessories, footwear, fragrances and shades here.

‘I have always admired Indian people, they are very passionate about what they do and they have an innate fashion taste…We are very excited to be here,’ said Renzo Rosso, president and founder of Diesel, at the launch of the stores Wednesday.

Diesel has partnered with Reliance Brands, a part of the Reliance Industries group.

‘India has been one of our major objectives for the last 5 years. We worked hard to find the right location, the perfect time and the best partner to expand our brand in this country,’ Rosso added.

Darshan Mehta, Reliance Brands’ chief executive, said Diesel will cater to the younger generation.

‘Diesel has spawned a genre of fashion that is an alternative to established luxury and in India it arrives to a throng of hungry fashionable people and a growing generation of cool consumers,’ said Mehta.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra Launch Their Nightclub Royalty in Mumbai

Shilpa Shetty and Raj recently announced the opening of their new nightclub called 'Royalty' in Bandra, Mumbai. Shilpa and Raj may be busy touring with their IPL team- Rajasthan Royals but that hasn't stopped them from expanding their other business interests.The high end club is located at the same place where popular hotspot 'Poison' was earlier situated.

This was taken at L'Avenue Café on Avenue Montaigne in Paris. We are having a really late lunch and a bottle of champagne after our visit to the Louvre. I made Kanav behave like a tourist. I am a museum junkie, so I dragged him to the Louvre and see the Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo Da Vinci. Kanav wasn't much impressed by it and said 'Big deal! I would rather look at you instead. I wanted him to see renowned works of art and he would say I am much more beautiful. He's very naughty. I made him climb the Eiffel Tower after a heavy lunch because I wanted to show him the exact spot where I wanted him to propose to me and kiss me.

At Maldives on my birthday (June 9). It was again a surprise as I thought we were going to Goa when Kanav whizzed me off to Maldives without divulging any information. He had taken a private villa with a pool. It was lovely and secluded.

Dinner at Olive, Bandra. This was our first time together in Mumbai and Kanav surprised me on his birthday. We brought it in Olive. He wasn't supposed to be in India. Suddenly, he landed up at my home and took me out for dinner. It's also the first time that he met my friends. The rose in his mouth is because Kanav is trying to do the tango. I was wearing an off-shoulder dress and Kanav said I looked very hot.

At the Louvre in Paris. Paris is my favourite city and I have visited it many times as a child. This trip was special as Kanav drove me down to Paris his yellow Ferrari, for the first time. I had gone to meet him in London and he said, 'Let's drive down to Paris on Friday and stay over the weekend. But I think he was more excited about the car than me!

At Kanav’s Delhi home where I met his family and friends for the fist time since our courtship. I am wearing a Versace dress while Kanav’s wearing a blue Armani shirt. We popped a bottle of champagne and then all of us went out for dinner.

It’s at the Lakmé Fashion Week when we made our first public appearance together in March. I guess that makes it kind of special…
