Dia Mirza Denies Marriage With Shoaib Akhtar, Says 'I Don’t Even Know Him'

Dia Mirza was shocked as she started receiving calls congratulating her for deciding to marry Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar.

Reportedly, a Pakistani TV channel Geo TV quoted Dia as saying that her marriage to Shoaib Akhtar would be better than Sania’s. Diya Mirza went on a denial and has stated that she does not have an affair with Shoaib Akhtar and would not tie the knot with him. She has no such plans.

The Former beauty queen and actress has lashed out, claiming that the reports are false and untrue. Denying the report, the actress said, The news of my wedding with Shoaib Akhtar is absolutely rubbish. It’s a figment of imagination.”

Diya has made a request to the media that she had nothing to do with with Shoaib Akhtar and she doesn’t even know him. Dia also added that she doesn’t has any plans for marriage right now.

There are rumors all over the web which suggest that bollywood actress Dia Mirza and Rawalpindi express Shoaib Akhtar are having an affair and will soon marry.

Apparently the rumors began after some Pakistani TV Channels quoted Diya Mirza as having said that she and Shoaib Akhtar are very good friends and they are getting married soon. She also is suppose to have added that their wedding will be the biggest marriage of the sub-continent.

Media reports suggest that she further stated that she loves Pakistani cricketers and Shoaib is her ideal man.

When the media tried to confirm the news from Shoaib Akhtar, Rawalpindi Express did not comment. Shoaib Akhtar is waiting for his comeback into the team and after his comeback; they both will make public the relationship in a joint press conference.

However Dia Mirza has denied it all. This news or rumour was spread out by Pakistani News Channel Geo TV.

After months of buzz, Italian lifestyle brand Diesel has entered the Indian market with two stores stacked with apparels, accessories, footwear, fragrances and shades here.

‘I have always admired Indian people, they are very passionate about what they do and they have an innate fashion taste…We are very excited to be here,’ said Renzo Rosso, president and founder of Diesel, at the launch of the stores Wednesday.

Diesel has partnered with Reliance Brands, a part of the Reliance Industries group.

‘India has been one of our major objectives for the last 5 years. We worked hard to find the right location, the perfect time and the best partner to expand our brand in this country,’ Rosso added.

Darshan Mehta, Reliance Brands’ chief executive, said Diesel will cater to the younger generation.

"I didn't conduct this test because I had any doubt on Rahul. It's just because ever since we have got married, many people have asked me, 'if he is trustworthy, do I find him dependable and why I married him despite his reputation?'. So this was done to shut them up, " Dimpy, 21, said.

The episode featuring flamboyant Rahul trapped between two females will be aired Friday 11 p.m.

"Rahul is the most loving and caring husband and extremely dependable. Now all those people who doubted his integrity can see for themselves, " she said.

Dimpy had pipped 14 contestants and over 16, 500 applicants on Imagine TV's "Rahul Dulhania Le Jaayega" to marry Rahul, son of late Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan.

The young model is enjoying every bit of her married life and says she wants to "take it easy" on the professional front.

"This is our courtship period since we didn't get too much time alone before we get married. We're still exploring new things about each other and want to enjoy this time. So I want to take my time to (start) work, " she said.

Nikunj refused to divulge details but said she wasn't aware that the episode will have Rahul being spied upon by Dimpy. She said, "When they approached me for the show, I hadn't a clue that the show will feature them. It was too late by the time I came to know about them and I had already given my consent to the channel."

So does she think Rahul is a changed guy now? "I am of the opinion people don't change. Besides, no guy will stray in a month-old marriage!"

According to some media reports Mallik refused to comment further and only added, “I’m under a contract with the channel. I’m not authorised to speak on it. You’ll have to watch the episode to see the truth.”

Shoaib and Sania left the venue of the walima (reception hosted by the groom's family), the Pearl Continental Hotel, much earlier after some guests began acting in an unruly manner, sources said.

The event was better organised than another reception held for the couple in the cricketer's hometown of Sialkot on April 25.

Sania, wearing a flowing gown, and Shoaib, clad in a dark suit, waved to television cameras and fans as they entered the venue of the walima with their relatives.

Only two former Test cricketers — Wasim Bari and Aamir Sohail — attended the ceremony.

Mr. Bari was the head of an inquiry committee that announced stiff punishment for seven cricketers, including Shoaib, for on-and-off field problems.

An invitation was reportedly sent to Pakistan Cricket Board chief Ijaz Butt, but he preferred not to attend, the sources said.

Punjab Governor Salmaan Taser, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani's son Abdul Qadir, Federal Sports Minister Aijaz Jakhrani and Population Welfare Minister Firdous Aashiq Awan were among the high-profile guest who attended the event.

“Marriage diplomacy”

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Awan said such “marriage diplomacy” would improve people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and India.

She hoped this relationship would melt the ice between the two countries.

Mr. Jakhrani congratulated the couple and prayed for their success.

Fair chance to prove innocence

He said Shoaib would be given a fair chance in an inquiry to prove his innocence.

Shoaib and other top Pakistani cricketers punished by the cricket board had filed appeals with an appellant tribunal that will begin its hearing on Friday.

Shoaib's brother-in-law Imran Zafar was conspicuous by his absence at the walima. The brother-in-law was blamed for the mismanagement of the reception in Sialkot.

In accordance with the rules of the Punjab government that banned the serving of more than one dish at wedding functions, guests were served a chicken korma with rice and naans and a dessert.

SRK and Wife Gauri, Owners of IPL Franchise ‘KKR' Get Show-Cause Notices

NEW DELHI: Actor Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri, who promote IPL franchise ‘Kolkata Kinght Riders’, and Jaipur IPL Cricket that promotes ‘Rajasthan Royals’ have been issued showcause notices for alleged violation of the Companies Act.

“After expiry of notice period, criminal proceedings will be filed against the companies and the directors,” the Registrar of Companies (RoC), Mumbai, informed the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).

The notices were issued to the companies and their promoters and directors for not filing mandatory yearly returns.

The MCA, on last Wednesday, had directed the RoC to collect within a week all details on IPL franchisees, including the bidding process, sweat equity and memorandum of association.

“My ministry is merely collecting information that we should have in the normal course of those companies that are franchisee companies,” Corporate Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid had told reporters on Monday, clarifying that this was not a probe.

The RoC-Mumbai, which in quiredinto the details of Red Chillies Entertainment and Knight Riders Sports, and Jaipur IPL Cricket, in a communication to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on April 22, said that “after expiry of the notice period, criminal proceeding will be filed against the companies and their directors.” The RoC said that these companies have not been filing balance sheets and annual returns.

According to an official sources, the companies have been given 15 days to respond to the notices given RoC-Mumbai.

E-mails sent to Red Chillies Entertainments and Knight Riders Sports remained unanswered, while the Jaipur IPL Cricket remained silent on the RoC notice.

Red Chillies Entertainment, promoted Rukh Khan and Gauri, which hold 55 per cent stake in Knight Riders Sports, has been charged for not filing balance sheet for 200607 with the RoC as required under the Companies Act, 1956.

Knight Rider Sports has not filed annual returns for the period up to September 2008 and September 2009. As regards Jaipur IPL Cricket, its directors too have been issued notices.

So how do the two know each other? According to the sources, Dhoni and Asin became friends a year ago. The reception was hosted by Malik and turned out to be a headache for his family since many uninvited guests showed up to take part in the celebrations at the Sialkot hockey ground. Added to this heavy security arrangements by the Punjab Police and the insistence of the local administration on enforcing the energy conversation measures also led to the problems during the function.

A private channel ‘Duniya’ reported that tennis star Sania’s family, which had arrived from India for the celebrations, left for Lahore early as they were upset at the mismanagement at the function. Eyewitnesses at the function said Shoaib and Sania, who were sitting on the stage and greeting the guests, also left before the function ended. “There is no reason known why they left but apparently there were problems when the younger brother-in-law of Malik, Adnan was stopped at the main entrance by security guards from entering the function,” one eye witness said. Eyewitnesses said hundreds of people showed up for the reception many of whom were not invited and without invitation cards. “This led to a huge rush at the main entrance and it made life difficult for the security personnel as well to control the situation,” he said. He said there were reports that invitation cards for the wedding reception had been sold by some people for between Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000. To make matters worse, the power corporation officials insisted that no extra lighting would be allowed at the reception.

However, in an interview at www.musiciansfriend.com Lee himself mentions how he was the bass player on the #1 title track single. 2) On the May 5, 1973 issue of Billboard magazine, editor Nat Freedland interviews producer Jay Senter and keyboardist Mike Melvoin about the session musicians on the “I Am Woman” single. Lee is mentioned as the bass player on the track. You can find the interview, which appeared on the “Creative Trends” column, searching for Billboard magazine at books.google.com. 3) The 2002 6-CD Anthology box-set “Capitol Records Sixtieth Anniversary - 1942-2002” (Capitol CDP 7243 5 39302 2) includes the single “I Am Woman” and a list of musician credits for the same track, which you can find below. The notes in the anthology define the track as “Original short version from the Columbia motion picture “Stand Up And Be Counted” (1972)”. Please note that the version in question is exactly the same as included in the “I Am Woman” record album. Also, anthology notes mention previous version of same song, which was included on the Helen Reddy album “I Don’t Know How To Love Him” (1971): no personnel credits for this latter album are available, neither from original vinyl release nor from Australian CD reissue (see Helen Reddy entry above). 4) Album was reissued in 2005 for the Australian market by Raven Records as a 2-album single CD on Raven RVCD-168. A magnificent wedding reception was held for Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik in Sialkot, Pakistan which is Shoaib's home town on Sunday 25th April 2010. The Newly wed coupled Shoaib Malik-Sania Mirza smiled throughout during their Walima celebrations at Sialkot. Sania's outfit for the occasion was designed by Shantanu and Nikhil and Looked beautiful. A whopping five million rupees was spent on the magnificent wedding reception of Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik in Sialkot, where flowers costing Rs. two million were brought to decorate the stage, and expert chefs from Lahore were brought for preparing the dishes.

Over one thousand guests attended the function at the Hockey Club of Pakistan in Sialkot on Sunday. It was a unique event for the people of Sialkot, who had been waiting for the arrival of cricketer Shoaib and tennis sensation Sania for the past several days. Only the people with special invitation were allowed to enter the venue amid tight security. Television channels reported that several relatives and friends of Shoaib could not hand over gifts to the newly-wed couple because of security restrictions.

The people of Sailkot welcomed the couple with folk dances to drumbeats and music. They also bought horses that danced to the drumbeats. The entire stadium was adorned for the occasion. Two trucks laden with flowers were used for decoration. The entire stadium was decorated for the occasion, and sixteen different types of flowers brought from a Lahore based firm were used to decorate the stage.

The guests at the function were served a large variety of cuisines, as the expert chefs prepared a combination of ‘desi’ and traditional meals of Punjab, The News reports.

Security was heightened inside and outside the club, and only the people with special invitations were allowed to enter the venue.

According to reports, several relatives and friends of Shoaib could not hand over gifts to the newly-wed couple because of the security restrictions.

The local administration’s insistence on enforcing the energy conversation measures also led to some problems during the function.

Shoaib and Sania came back to Lahore at 3-30 AM after attending the welcome dinner in Sialkot. They reached their room at the eighth floor of the hotel from the back door.

Sources said that the couple had a light breakfast this morning in their room after which they did not come out; while, Sania’s relatives took their breakfast in the lobby and returned to their rooms.

The relatives of Sania will visit various historic places of Lahore today and do shopping at markets. They will be accompanied by a security squad of police on the occasion.
