Winners of Surfers Choice Movie Awards 2010/2011 By Bollywood Hungama

After the overwhelming response to the Surfers Choice Music Awards, its now time to announce the results of Bollywood Hungama Surfers Choice Movie Awards 2010. The USP of these awards is the fact that there is no special jury to decide the winner but instead it is you-the junta janardhan- who has voted for your favourite film / director/ actor etc.

Pictures: Balaji Global Indian Films and TV Honours/Awards Function

Ekta Kapoor’s first Balaji Global Indian Films and TV Honours turned out to be a star-studded affair with almost everyone from Shah Rukh Khan, Yash and Pamela Chopra, Rani Mukerji, Vidya Balan, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, Jeteendra, Rakesh, Hrithik and Pinky Roshan, Randhir Kapoor, Dharmendra attending the event. While Kareena Kapoor performed to a scintillating dance number paying a tribute to Sridevi in a glittering silver, gold and diamond outfit designed by Manish Malhotra, Sajid Khan and Ranveer Singh turned hosts. One of the highlights of the show was a theme on friendship celebrated by Rishi Kapoor, Jeetendra and Rakesh Roshan. The trio have been friends for 36 years and host sajid Khan made them share funny interesting anecdotes of their dosti over the years. The event was warm and intimate with Sridevi almost being in tears over Kareena's tribute to her.

Rani Mukerji and Raveena Tandon Felicitated at The Gr8! Women Awards 2011.

Rani Mukherjee won the Award for Best Actress of the Decade. Raveena Tandon Thadani, received the special mention award for adopting and looking after two girls at The Gr8! Women Awards 2011.

It was a grand evening as stars came in to celebrate The Gr8! Women Awards 2011. Rani Mukerji was seen in a sexy black dress, while Raveena Tandon, who walked in with hubby Anil Thadani, looked hot in a black saree.

The list of awardees comprised popular names like Rani Mukherji, Raveena Tandon Thadani, Vandana Luthra, Rina Dhaka, and Ambika Soni.

Raveena Tandon Thadani, who had adopted two girls while she was at the peak of her acting career in Bollywood, received the special mention award for adopting and looking after two girls.

"My husband has been very supportive of my choices as he never objected to my decision to adopt girl children. As a society we still need to give women the rights and respect," said Raveena.

Air Marshal Padma Bandopadhyaya, the first woman air marshal in the history of independent India, and also a veteran of two wars, was felicitated with a special award at the ceremony.

Salman Khan & Kareena Kapoor at Global Indian Music Awards, GIMA 2010

Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) is the first award function organized in India totally dedicated to music industry, which had its inaugural edition yesterday on November 10. It was a huge reunion of lots of legendary singers, musicians, lyricists and definitely the Bollywood stars.

Bollywood's singing legend Lata Mangeshkar was presented with the lifetime achievement award at the Chevrolet Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) By her sister Asha Bhosle.

Among all the shining stars, Dabangg star Salman Khan was one of the biggest attractions, who performed from his blockbuster film and thousands cheered for him.

His co-star Sonakshi Sinha was not left behind and she also took on the stage to entertain the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, Salman said that music is the utmost important factor for Indian cinema and it feels great to be part of such an award function that honors the musicians for their contributions.

According to Salman, whenever a film is made, music is the first thing that is shown to the viewers so it acts like the face of any movie. He added that films cannot probably do without music because they are the soul of most of the films. So, the musicians and the singers deserve to be treated with great respect in the industry.

Apart from Salman, others stars like Kareena Kapoor, Rietesh Deshmukh and Sonakshi Sinha also graced the event. Actors Shreyas Talpade and Dia Mirza hosted the award event along with filmmaker Sajid Khan.

Some of the legendary names of the Indian music industry like the Awards Goodwill Ambassador Asha Bhosle, Shankar Mahadevan, Ustad Rashid Khan, Shaan, Pt. Vishva Mohan Bhatt, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal and Salim-Suleiman were present at this great musical award function.
