Having braved the Indian Premier League (IPL) storm together, former minister of state for external affairs Shashi Tharoor and GF/fiance Sunanda Pushkar will get married on August 22.
Some reports say that Shashi Tharoor and Sunanda are tying the knot on 17th August 2010. Marriage venue has been decided as an auditorium in the premises of the Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram, built by the royal family of Travancore. The official confirmation is awaited.
Their marriage will be a private affair with very few friends and family members likely to attend the ceremony.
Tharoor, a Lok Sabha MP, had resigned as minister in the wake of IPL Kochi row earlier this year.
According to reports, their Wedding reception is scheduled on September 3 in Delhi. Guests from India and abroad were likely to be on the invitees' list. The invitation card is being designed in Delhi.
Tharoor's divorce from his second wife is now official which has paved way for his third marriage with his Dubai-based fiancae. In Lok Sabha records, Tharoor's marital status now shows as a "divorcee".
Before taking the nuptial vows, Tharoor, who is not known to be too religious, has done the rounds of temples. He was spotted with Pushkar at the Sai Baba shrine in Shirdi. From Shirdi, they also went to Shani Shinganapur temple in Ahmednagar.
Asked about his visits to the temples, Tharoor said he performed the rituals for "family peace".
