Sonam Kapoor inaugurated the first flagship store of fashion designer Masaba Gupta, labeled ‘Masaba’, at Juhu, Mumbai on Saturday 20th November 2010. Talking about the fashion line Masaba said “The silhouettes are no fuss, simple and commercially viable, yet of high cut and fashion. Dhotis , angarakhas, jumpsuits, ikat and silk sarees, shift dresses are some of the silhouettes that define ‘masaba-the label’. The colors are vibrant with patchwork playing a predominant role in most of my garments. The color pallette is vast with canary yellows, aubergines, paprika reds, bottle greens, deep aqua, all polished off with black and white. My trademark style is fierce & bold with a strong play of color and cut, but also traditionally rooted.”

Masaba also recently launched her bridal line called ‘kaleera by masaba’. This line is an ode to true craftsmanship, a sequence-free line containing antique gold work polished with motis, perfect for a sangeet or a mehndi ceremony.

The Bollywood actress Rani Mukerjee who launched the first sports docu-drama on women cricketers, Poor Cousins of Million Dollar Babies in New Delhi, said that cricket is wrongly termed a'gentleman's game'.

"Since childhood, girls are always discouraged from playing sports and are told that cricket is a gentleman's game, which is incorrect. Learning it for the film made me realise what a beautiful game cricket is. It is about technique, not power," Rani told reporters.
