Sameer Soni married to Neelam Kothari on Sunday, 23rd January 2011. Sameer had intended to have a quiet and simple wedding but things changed and many of the couple's friends from the film industry were seen at the wedding, making it a gala event. Ekta Kapoor, Jitendra, Farah Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Sonali Bendre, Amrita Arora, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and many others from the B-town wearing their traditional best, arrived to congratulate the happy couple.

The model-turned-actor Samir Soni was in the news recently with Bigg Boss. He and his actress-turned-jewellery designer bride had broken off briefly but got back together recently.

This is a second marriage for both Samir and Neelam. Neelam was earlier married to London-based industrialist Rishi Sethia while Samir was married to model Rajlaxmi Khanvilkar (who is now married to actor Rahul Roy).

Neelam Kothari’s mehendi ceremony was held at her home on Saturday (22nd January 2011). The actress-turned-jewellery designer weds actor Samir Soni who was last seen on Bigg Boss 4 on Sunday, 23rd January. It was a ladies only affair with several B-Town women in attendance.

Among those spotted with henna-adorned hands were Ekta Kapoor, Raveena Tandon Thadani, Amrita Arora Ladak and Karisma Kapoor among others. The Neelam-Samir nuptials will be held on Sunday night with a wedding bash/party slated for Monday night.

Neelam-Sameer To Marry On January 23rd

Neelam Kothari-Sameer Soni Marriage: Samir Soni and his ladylove and actress-turned-jewelry designer Neelam Kothari are set to tie the knot on Jan 23 2011.

The shy actor, lately out of Bigg Boss said, "We will have a very quiet wedding ceremony with just our parents and siblings. We will have a wedding reception for our friends Jan 26."

"We`re going crazy trying to draw up a list of invitees for the reception. We`ve so many people to call."

And yes, Samir will invite all his Bigg Boss inmates, even the ones he didn`t get along with.

Samir reasoned, "That`s what decorum demands. Throughout my stint at Bigg Boss, I maintained my dignity. That`s what I had promised to do to my parents. They were against me going into Bigg Boss. I had assured them that I wouldn`t shame them."

"I think I kept my word. I lasted quite long in there. The whole experience taught me to be patient."

Samir and Neelam have no immediate honeymoon plans. Samir explained, "I`ve stayed away from Mumbai long enough because of Bigg Boss. So, no honeymoon for now."

"But yes, kids are definitely on the anvil. Both of us are so quiet, we need some activity in the house," laughs Samir.

Neelam said, "Yes, I am very happy. We plan to start a family immediately. We want lots of kids."

It’s official! Neelam Kothari and Sameer Soni will be get hitched in the last week of January.

A source says, “ The actress and her beau have been seeing each other for more than three years now. Following his exit from Bigg Boss 4, the couple decided to get married by the month- end. However, there was no official proposal from Sameer.

The two know that they want to spend the rest of their lives together and that marriage was always on the cards. It’s just that the couple didn’t want to waste time and decided to strengthen their bond by legalising it.

Rumours about their marriage began last week and people have been calling the couple up and asking about the date but they are being tight- lipped, insisting it will be a small, intimate affair.” A source close to Neelam says, “ Sameer and she are trying to finalise the marriage date for the last week of January. Failing that, the first week of February is a definite possibility.

Her brother who stays in the US with his family, Sameer’s parents who stay in Shimla and Delhi and his brothers and their families who stay in Delhi and USA, will all be coming down for the wedding so Neelam and Sameer are working on the wedding dates depending on their availability.” Though close friends like Karan Johar, Tusshar and Ekta Kapoor are expected to be present, Neelam’s friend insists that it won’t be a ‘ typical big, fat, glittering B- Town wedding.’ “ Only their families and a handful of close friends from B- Town will be sent invites.

Right now, they’re deciding the wedding date (tentatively, it’s Jan 22). Following that, they will decide on dates for the other events like the mehendi, sangeet and reception,” reveals the friend.
