Laughs, Friends, and Fashion

Ohhhhhh where do I even begin to describe the night I just had out with La Bella Mafia (my good friends-Gretchen, Ann, Bethany and I). We started the night out at Joe Theisman's in Old Town Alexandria and then hopped on the metro to downtown DC to attend Shecky's Girls Night Out at DAR Constitution Hall. We are the most eclectic group but every time and I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME we get together as a group we just laugh and laugh and laugh and we cause any and everyone in our presence to laugh as well. Didn't you hear... laughter is great for the soul! These girls mean so much to me because we are all so different but together we are as united as any friends can be. I really hope that every single one of you are as blessed as me to find friends like these.

The Shecky's GNO event was great- from the free alcohol to the great jewelry displays to the amazing music playing, if you missed out, you MISSED OUT! I spoke with many talented jewelry designers and promised to feature some of my fave pieces below.

I was also SO happy to meet one of my faithful followers and fans at the event. I was sooooo shocked that I was recognized from this blog so I guess I must be doing something right but as always.... I thank all of you!

As far as the outfit is concerned, I have been VERY inspired by the 70s and had to pop out my wanna- be bell-bottoms and my new silk mandarin collar top... such a comfy outfit for the night...

I hope you all had a great night!

Tomorrow is the viewing of the Bill Cunningham Documentary at E Street Cinema with my business partner....

Good night and as always ENJOY!!!!!!!

Mellow Yellow

See... I kept my promise!!!

This is probably one of the most non Jenni dresses that I own but every time I put it on for some reason I feel very 60's. I still remember the day I bought it because of the pesky Michael Kors employee that kept telling me how great the color looked on me. I'm usually never "sold" but she just wouldn't budge and well, I like to go out on a limb sometimes so this is what happens. I have been in a color-ful mood and I have been dying to wear these bow shoes of mine. The heel is like something a pilgrim would wear but I still love 'em... I don't believe in high heel shoes being less than 4 inches... anything less and you are a pilgrim in my opinion (hey everyone's got an opinion right)

I have a SUPER busy rest of the week ahead of me with LOTS of very fun photo ops that I cannot wait to share with you. Tomorrow I'm attending Shecky's Girl's Night Out at DAR Constitution Hall, Thursday I am going to E Street Cinema to see the Bill Cunningham documentary and Saturday is a great fund raising event at Saki in DC. I also did a little thrifting today at lunch (fashion before food) and bought an A.MA.ZING leather skirt.... I was completely on "team spring where for art thou" but now I'd like it to stay cold long enough for me to wear it :) (sue me)

These Are a Few of my Favorite Things

First many, many, MANY apologies for the lack of posting but I have been on the move and not quite MOVED yet. I have been VERY fortunate to have great people in my life that offered me shelter during my period of being "homeless". I move this weekend and so my posts will be more frequent. The great thing is that I have been able to brainstorm some amazing outfits that I cannot wait to share with everyone. I also have had some meetings on projects and cannot wait to share those as well with all of you. Again this is a super brief post of things that I love and cannot live without......

ENJOY!!!!!

A 10 Second First Promo of Ra.One With SRK and Kareena Kapoor

Heres a 10 Second Promo of Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One. A full 30 second teaser will be out during the India v Austrial cricket match tomorrow (24th March 2011)

Meanwhile it is reported that RA. OnE’s promotions will last a long 9 months. It kicks off today (23rd March 2011)!

The first teaser (the one above) of the sci-fi flick was unveiled during the Pakistan-West Indies match.

Teaser trail A source reveals, “ The teaser announces the beginning of the promotion. In the coming weeks, longer teasers will be released along with details on the film’s characters. King Khan wants to make Ra. One a household name and is playing it slow and steady — a first for the actor producer.” Director Anubhav Sinha elaborates, “We want to familiarise everyone with the film.

It’s a new concept that’s being tried out for the first time.

Today’s teaser (of 10 sec) is just an announcement that we are ready with the film. We do have specific plans for kids that will be unveiled at a later stage.” Ra. One is set to release in October during Diwali.

Shah Rukh Khan was spotted with buddy Karan Johar at Perry Cross Road, Bandra, yesterday. King Khan was returning from the dubbing for a Ra. One promo and KJo decided to catch up with the actor mid- way. The two chatted on the roadside for a while as passers- by waved to the duo.

Sonam Kapoor's FilmFare March 2011 Interview Scans

Sonam Kapoor, when asked in the filmfare interview if she's in touch with Ranbir Kapoor, says, “I don’t speak to Ranbir anymore. We are no longer friends. He doesn’t feature in my life at all". In the same interview she said nobody finds Ranbir sexy.

Sonam also clarified that She never had her heart broken by Ranbir Kapoor. Earlier, Rishi Kapoor has remarked that the reason why Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor were talking foul about his son was because they were in love with RK and he had broken their heart and it was a case of sour grapes.

Rani Mukerji Talks About Abhishek Bachchan: "I Realise Where I Stand With Abhishek"

We thought enough water had flown under this bridge, but apparently Rani Mukerji isn't ready to let bygones be bygones.

She recently opened up about what went wrong between Bachchan Jr and her. She addresses the touchy topic where she wasn't invited for the Abhi-Ash wedding.

"The truth is that if a person chooses not to invite you to their wedding, you realise where you stand with the person. Poor guy has been married for many years, we should all move on. I will always have fond memories of working with him!"

When asked why she and Abhishek look through each other at parties, Rani puts on her witty hat and says, "Do we? Maybe the lighting at the party was bad. I've no idea!"

Je ne sais pas

Happy Day before Hump Day!!!
First of all I want to apologize because this isnt the best post but I am in the middle of about 20 different things and just cannot get a chance to just chill. I'm moving homes, work is nut-so, and I have been getting a lot of great opps for jobs in styling SO.... no I am not complaining at all but I am probably going to be a tad M.I.A. I do promise at least 3 posts a week and once I'm back and settled I will come full force.

I do have A. MA. ZING news though... I have partnered with a local photographer to do all the styling on his shoots so PRETTY excited and please stay tuned for my "behind the scenes" posts from some of the shoots!!! Thanks again to all of you for commenting and encouraging me. I cannot say thank you enough.

Denim Jacket: Gap, White Blazer: H&M, Purple Tank: Mossimo, Skirt: Forever21, Tights: Wolford

Ok well... here is the outfit of the day... Bought this body con striped skirt a while ago but never quite knew how to work it. I was OH SO not in the "chic" mood to go to work so wore it with a denim jacket. I feel like a denim jacket really can pull together any outfit to give it a "je ne sais quoi" or.... MAYBE I so just made that up because that is what I chose to wear.. :)
Excuse the bare walls... I'm almost packed up and outta there.. peep a glimpse of my Stylit planner ;)

Cerulean and Graffiti

Happy Saturday Everyone-
I am still on my "high" from the Fashion Bomb Daily post and probably will be on it for a long while. It is crazy how many emails I have gotten for work and projects to collaborate on so again I am so THANKFUL!!!

My good friend Rian and I decided to "celebrate" and go to dinner at one of my fave clubs and restaurants in DC.. The Park at 14th. When you go and YOU MUST go, my top choices on the menu: the tomato, basil, and mozzarella salad, the blackened salmon, the pasta, and the jamaican jerk chicken wings with mac and cheese! I am telling you eat, eat, eat and then you can dance it off later.

I wanted to make sure I was comfortable yet cute so I wore my new sheer, graffiti print tunic from American Apparel with liquid leggings, a cerulean moto jacket, studded belt and sky high platform pumps THAT KILLED (literally and figuratively). Remember when it comes to my shoes "fashion before comfort"!!!

It was definitely a first for me that night because we bar hopped... Friday nights are a lot of fun now in the nightlife scene in DC... I recommend: dinner and pre-dancing at Park, then a little mid evening jaunt to Mood Lounge and then finishing off the night at Recess.

Had an AMAZING time, got home late but was up bright and early for flag football practice the next day! SOOOOOOO proud of myself :)

Tunic: American Apparel, Belt: Zara, Leggings: Apostrophe, Clutch:DSW, Pumps: Ross brand Joey
